Hawaiian Feather Lei

My inspiration for this lei was the little palila bird. Once common, it now is on the endangered list and lives only on the upper slopes of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii. I chose colors to match the bird’s feathers and made a traditional Hawaiian Humu Papa (hat band).
