Hand Carved Sgraffito Vase with Butterflies

Sgraffito – in Italian “to scratch” – is a decorating pottery technique produced by applying layers of color (engobes) to leather hard pottery and then scratching off parts of the layer to create contrasting images, patterns and texture and reveal the clay color underneath.

Handbuilted Black & White Marbled Stoneware Cup

This mug was handbuilted using a white and black stoneware clay, which has created shades of gray in lovely stripes.
The inside of cup is glazed to smooth finish.

It holds around 300 ml, height 11 cm.
